We are committed to deepening our spiritual relatedness and honouring the worth of each individual by extending hospitality and pastoral care, and sharing relevant and meaningful worship, spiritual practices, and small group ministry.

We are an inclusive, diverse community with extensive lay participation by people of all ages.

We are a caring community where formal and informal pastoral care is central. Since 1999, we have been an Affirming Congregation, intentionally welcoming and involving gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and two-spirited people in our shared life and ministry. We are an active congregation within The United Church of Canada and are committed to ecumenical and interfaith initiatives.

The Sydenham Street Choir, under the direction of Mr. Charles Walker, is one of the strongest groups in the church and has enjoyed an increase in membership over the past several years. An introit, and two anthems are presented as part of Sunday worship during the church year (except during the summer months and some other ocassions) as well as participating in funeral services from time to time and special music presentations.

Children & Youth Arts Program, Many Gifts - One Spirit, includes a Sunday morning program for children 4 to 10 and a Monday afternoon program for children 10 to 14. Community is built by creating, discussing, eating, and playing together while having fun and making new friends.
